Welcome to ShipOrShame

By using ShipOrShame, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, that's okay - but you'll miss out on the public accountability (and shame).

What ShipOrShame Is

ShipOrShame is a platform that tracks your GitHub commit activity and displays it publicly to motivate you (through gentle social pressure) to ship code consistently.

We're here to help you build in public and maintain your shipping streak. Think of us as your friendly accountability partner who occasionally points out when you've been slacking.

Your Account

• You must have a valid GitHub account to use ShipOrShame
• You're responsible for maintaining the security of your account
• One account per person, please - no gaming the leaderboard
• You can delete your account and data at any time

Public Information

By using ShipOrShame, you understand and agree that:

• Your GitHub username and avatar will be displayed publicly
• Your commit streaks and activity will be visible on the leaderboard
• Your “shame” status (if you break your streak) may be displayed
• Other users can see your shipping history and projects

Acceptable Use

Please don't:

• Create fake commits just to maintain your streak (we see you)
• Use bots or automation to artificially inflate your activity
• Harass other users about their shipping (or lack thereof)
• Attempt to manipulate the leaderboard or rankings
• Use the service for anything illegal or harmful

Content & Projects

When you add projects or content to ShipOrShame:

• You retain ownership of your code and projects
• You grant us permission to display your project information publicly
• You're responsible for ensuring you have rights to any content you share
• We may remove content that violates these terms

Service Availability

We do our best to keep ShipOrShame running smoothly, but we can't guarantee 100% uptime. Sometimes servers need rest too. We're not responsible for any missed streak days due to service outages (though we'll feel bad about it).

Changes to the Service

We may update ShipOrShame from time to time - adding features, changing how things work, or occasionally removing things that aren't working. We'll try to give you a heads up about major changes.

Termination

You can stop using ShipOrShame anytime. We can also terminate accounts that violate these terms. If your account is terminated, your data will be deleted (and your streak will be... well, gone).

Limitation of Liability

ShipOrShame is provided “as is” without warranties. We're not liable for any damages arising from your use of the service. The shame you feel from breaking your streak is entirely self-inflicted.
